This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship
Internship Start Date/Season: Summer or As soon as possible when you can
Internship Duration: 8-10 weeks
Time/Days Required: 25hrs/week minimum
We're looking for a motivated, music-obsessed A&R Intern based in Los Angeles to join our team in person. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with a world-renowned music business leader and entrepreneur, gaining hands-on experience and insight into the inner workings of the industry. You'll be actively involved in the artist discovery process, tracking trends, scouting talent, and supporting artist development initiatives.
This is an unpaid internship designed for someone hungry to learn, build their network, and grow within the music industry.
Responsibilities:
-Research and identify up-and-coming artists across platforms (Spotify, TikTok, SoundCloud, etc.)
-Compile weekly scouting reports and present findings to the A&R team
-Track chart movements, viral trends, and new music releases
-Help maintain and update internal A&R databases
-Attend shows (when applicable) and provide live show evaluations
-Support the A&R team on special projects, pitch decks, and creative sessions
-Provide input on demos, songwriting, and production ideas
-Occasionally assist with errands or travel-related tasks as needed
Requirements:
-Must be based in Los Angeles and available to work from our office
-Strong knowledge and passion for music and current industry trends
-Active user of music discovery platforms
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Highly organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Access to a car and a valid driver's license preferred
-Previous experience in music (even student-run projects) is a plus, but not required
Bonus Points If You:
-Have experience in audio production or songwriting
-Maintain a playlist, blog, or social media page focused on music
-Are familiar with music analytics tools (Chartmetric, Soundcharts, etc.)
