Top boutique entertainment law firm with offices in New York City and Beverly Hills seeks a full-time Human Resources Professional to assist the Management team with all HR related tasks. This position will be based in our New York office, with some travel to our Beverly Hills location possible.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all stages of hiring process including job posts, screening and interviewing candidates, scheduling and coordinating of candidate interviews with partners
• Leading the on-boarding process for all new hires, as well as overseeing current employees and disseminating the firm's HR policies
• Manage and track incoming new hire paperwork and ensure all document is complete
• Assist with off-boarding and terminations including meetings, documentation, releases, etc.
• Oversee payroll, health insurance, dental, retirement plan and other employee benefits
• Track employee vacation and sick leave accruals and handle all aspects in connection with vacation requests, calendars, coverage, etc.
• Work with our outside employment lawyer to keep abreast of federal, New York and California labor laws to ensure the firm is fully compliant
• Maintain all HR policy information and answer employee questions related to HR policies and procedures
• Assist with other management and administrative related activities that may arise
Qualifications:
• 5 years of relevant HR experience, experience working at a law firm and/or other entertainment firm(s) a plus but not required
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook & Excel
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface appropriately at all levels
• Basic understanding of employment law
• Passionate about HR and interest in developing in the role
• Great team player, approachable and ability to communicate and adapt to a variety of firm needs
