Chicago Democratic Political Media Firm seeking a Graphics Artist/Animator for June - October contract. We are looking for a creative self-starter who works well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Possibility of additional work on a per-project basis after October.
The Graphics Artist will create and design custom graphics and animate 2- and 3-dimensional images that transmit ideas in TV and web ads. They are experts in interactive media software with proficient digital skills, and graphic design and video editing experience.
The ideal applicant is deadline driven, organized, and detail-obsessed. They have top notch interpersonal and communication skills and are also able to work independently. They thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and can create content in a timely fashion under pressure.

Responsibilities:
- Create GFX titles and short animations for broadcast television and web/pre-roll ads
- Collaborate with Creative Directors, Video Editors, and Producers to produce the images and designs our clients want and need
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Successfully balance time constraints while maintaining quality
- Keep abreast of new technologies and techniques to deliver cutting edge work
Salary:

Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong Adobe After Effects skills, ideally with demonstrable experience in motion graphics
- Strong Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills
- Ability to create high quality content from a loose concept or constrained brief with short deadlines
- Strong creative thinking, exhibiting a range of varied styles and techniques
- B.A./B.S. or equivalent in graphics and photo editing, interactive media, computer-aided design, or animation
- 1-3 years of professional experience
- Understanding of brand identity and willingness to comply with branding guidelines
- Flexible schedule - position requires work outside normal business hours
- Valid driver's license
Major Pluses:
- Passion for progressive causes and issues
- Spanish fluency
- Knowledge of the technical and creative components of video production, lighting, and audio recording
- Experience with Final Cut or Adobe Premiere
