POSITION OVERVIEW:
As the General Manager for the experience, you will be at the forefront of our innovative journey, responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the exhibition. You will lead a dynamic team, shape the visitor experience, and ensure the seamless execution of daily operations. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional leadership, operational, and strategic skills, with a passion for delivering excellence and shaping the future of experiential entertainment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide visionary leadership, setting a clear direction and fostering a collaborative and high performing team culture.
• Oversee all aspects of exhibition operations, including guest services, ticketing, retail, marketing, finance, HR and facility management.
• Work with the leadership team to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business goals, enhance visitor experiences, and drive revenue growth.
• Collaborate with management teams to ensure the exhibition's installations and experiences align with the overall vision and objectives.
• Manage the financial performance of the exhibition, including budgeting, forecasting, and optimizing revenue streams.
• Work with key stakeholders to lead the development and implementation of marketing and promotional strategies to drive attendance and engagement.
• Liaise with PR and communications team to coordinate press and media visits.
• Manage all people operations / engagement with staffing vendors to ensure the exhibition is fully resourced at all times.
• Foster relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and sponsors to expand the exhibition's reach and impact.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously innovate and enhance the exhibition's offerings.
• Oversee the implementation of technology solutions to improve operational efficiency, guest experiences, and ticketing processes in line with the Department Directors of those areas.
• Monitor guest feedback and conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure high guest satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards, and implement protocols to mitigate risks. - Provide regular reports and updates to executive leadership, communicating progress, challenges, and opportunities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven experience (10+ years) in operations, management, or leadership roles, preferably within the entertainment or cultural sectors.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of inspiring and guiding cross-functional teams.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive innovative solutions and achieve goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue optimization.
• Proficiency in managing hiring processes.
• Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the exhibition schedule.
• Passion for the arts, culture, and delivering transformative visitor experiences.
• As this is a touring position, travel is required.
