Job Title: Gaffer for Feature Film (Unpaid Deferred)

Location: Open to candidates from anywhere, local preferred

Shooting Dates: Tentative dates from August 12 to August 28

Payment: Deferred payment with percentages from sales

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Gaffer to join our team for an upcoming feature film. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your lighting expertise and collaborate with a passionate team of filmmakers. The position is unpaid, but we offer deferred payment and a percentage of sales from the film.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Director of Photography to design and implement the lighting plan for the film
Set up, operate, and maintain all lighting equipment on set
Ensure that all lighting setups achieve the desired visual effect and mood
Troubleshoot and resolve any lighting issues that arise during filming
Manage a team of lighting technicians and coordinate their activities on set
Ensure safety protocols are followed with all lighting equipment and electrical setups
Maintain detailed records of all lighting setups and adjustments throughout the shoot

Requirements:
Some experience as a Gaffer or in a similar role in film, television, or theater is preferred
Strong knowledge of lighting techniques, equipment, and safety protocols
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing requirements
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Passion for film and a commitment to the project
