Freelance Newsletter Writing Editor

We're looking for an experienced Freelance Newsletter Writing Editor to support the creation and refinement of a recurring email newsletter. This role is ideal for someone who understands how strong writing, thoughtful editing, and clean formatting come together to drive reader engagement.

Responsibilities:

* Edit and refine newsletter content for clarity, tone, structure, and flow
* Ensure copy is engaging, concise, and optimized for email readers
* Proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency
* Maintain a consistent voice and brand tone across issues
* Edit subject lines and preview text to improve open rates
* Format and review content within Mailchimp, ensuring links, spacing, and layout are clean and functional
* Collaborate on content planning and deadlines

Qualifications:

* Proven experience editing and/or writing email newsletters
* Familiarity with Mailchimp (or similar email platforms)
* Strong understanding of email best practices and audience engagement
* Excellent attention to detail and editorial judgment
* Ability to meet deadlines for recurring sends

Nice to Have:

* Experience analyzing open rates, click-through rates, or A/B testing
* Background in media, lifestyle, or brand newsletters
* Copywriting experience for email campaigns
