About the Opportunity: We are seeking a talented, passionate Freelance Scriptwriter with proven experience in vertical short-form serialized storytelling. If you thrive in crafting emotionally charged, fast-paced narratives designed for mobile-first audiences, we would love to work with you!
About the Projects: We are developing a range of dynamic short-form vertical miniseries targeting international audiences. Our content focuses on high emotional stakes, addictive cliffhangers, and fast-paced storytelling-think dramatic romances, thrilling betrayals, and binge-worthy narratives.
Responsibilities:
* Write original, compelling scripts for short vertical miniseries(~60 episodes total, each 60-120 seconds) based on synopsis.
* Develop detailed story outlines, episode treatments, character biographies, and full series synopsis.
* Collaborate closely with the team to ensure alignment on creative vision and production needs.
* Revise and polish scripts based on feedback, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
* Properly format scripts for vertical video presentation and adhere to industry best practices.
* Generate fresh story ideas by staying attuned to Western culture trends and audience preferences.
Requirements:
* MUST have vertical film or short-form serialized scriptwriting experience.
* At least 1 year of professional experience writing scripts for short-form dramas, vertical films, or serialized content.
* Excellent portfolio showcasing original scripts, short-form vertical miniseries, web dramas, or serialized fiction.
* Deep passion for storytelling and creating value through engaging narratives and a keen eye for detail
* Solid understanding of overseas short-form content markets, with high awareness of international audience tastes, especially Western mainstream culture.
* Experience writing for female-centric narratives or related editing/writing work is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, strong sense of responsibility, and team spirit.
* Open-minded to data-driven creative approaches; ability to optimize scripts, creative ideas, and stories based on audience feedback.
* Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
* Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and currently based in the U.S.
