DESCRIPTION:
About the Role:
We are seeking a Film / TV Publicity & Awards Specialist to support ongoing campaigns for a major distributor. This is a remote contract position, but preference will be given to candidates based in Los Angeles or New York for occasional on-site needs (e.g. press days, screenings, set visits).
The ideal candidate has deep experience in entertainment publicity, FYC campaigns, and media relations, and can confidently manage client communications, press strategy, talent logistics, and campaign execution. You'll collaborate closely with our internal team and external partners from pitch to premiere.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support awards campaigns across film, animation, and documentary titles
• Coordinate screenings, Q&As, junkets, press days, and premieres (in-person and virtual)
• Serve as liaison to guilds and awards organizations on rules, eligibility, and submissions
• Draft and distribute press materials, bios, media alerts, and trade announcements
• Handle talent scheduling, travel logistics, and on-site appearances
• Execute targeted media outreach and maintain press relationships
• Track press coverage, awards calendars, and competitor activity
• Contribute creative ideas to strategy and asset planning
• Join weekly remote team meetings and maintain timely updates across clients
Qualifications:
• 5-10 years of experience in entertainment publicity or awards campaigns
• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Established media relationships with trades, critics, long-leads, and awards press
• Strong client handling and event execution capabilities
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and proactive in remote settings
• Experience with Google Suite, Cision, MuckRack, Zoom, Indee, Airtable, and relevant PR tools
• Available for occasional in-person work in LA or NY
Details:
• Position Type: Freelance / Contractor
• Location: Remote (LA or NY preferred for in-person activations)
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM PT (includes weekly remote meetings)
• Contract Term: 6-month contract with potential to extend
• Language Requirement: English fluency required
