Film Scout / Acquisition Specialist

An established international film distributor specializing in independent films based in east side of Los Angeles is looking for an awesome, energetic, and resourceful Film Scout/Acquisition Specialist to join the team and help us scout/acquire (new or re-issued) feature films/TV programs. This will be a part-time/full-time position (flexible, with a mix of onsite/offsite possibility). Position requires minimum 24 hours - max. 40 hours per week.

You will be --
• researching and scouting for potential films based on our acquisition mandates and goals
• identifying content owners, prequalifying, making inquiries and requesting screeners;
• reviewing movies, creating accurate tracking records in our proprietary system, and preparing weekly team update on acquisition and greenlight status;
• responsible for following up, making offers, and communication throughout the negotiation process.

You must LOVE movies, and possess the following --
• strong interest and knowledge in motion pictures and independent films;
• film festivals, journalism, media-related background or retail experience;
• amazing research and out-of-box thinking to find new films
• good organization skill, attention to detail, and proficiency on basic office software such as Excel, Word, and database programs;
• articulating and charismatic interpersonal communication in writing, in person and on the phone;
• adaptable, self-starter, motivated, can-do-attitude and goal driven;
• personable and professional demeanor
• ethical and able to handle confidential matters.
