This is a Freelance Job
The show is cabaret style with a 3-piece band fronted by a reality television personality.
Total of 7 in tour party.
All dates are fly dates.
Current tour manager/ technical director will handle all advance logistics (travel, hotels, venue advances) and hand of an advance package for the right candidate to execute on the ground.
Playing 500 - 2500 cap. clubs, theatres, & some festivals.
We are ideally looking for someone who has some prior touring (at least 1 year) experience who can work in both a tour manager & technical director role. This position is great for a young gun, someone who wants to learn from an experienced leader. This is currently a fill-in sub position but could turn into something more over time.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Assisting with airport navigation & luggage to waiting sprinters/ vans.
• Hotel check in.
• Placing risers and backline based on stage plot and space.
• Assisting with line check & sound check.
• Assisting with pre-show VIP photo Ops
• Insuring all locally provided backline, audio, & video needs are provided per advance.
• Making sure artist & band are given time calls leading up to showtime.
• Setting up and running small video package to include show computer running QLab, audio interface, 2 channel Roland switcher, camcorder, MARS camera wireless system to interfaced with venue/ promoter provided system.
• Running QLab and calling cues & spots during show.
* Show uses QLab for audio & video playback, candidates with working knowledge receive higher priority.
• Getting traveling party back to hotel post-show.
Typical Schedule:
Morning flight into show city
Hotel check in upon arrival
2:00pm Venue Call
3:30pm Line Check
4:30pm Sound Check
6:30pm VIP Photo Op
8:00pm Show
Post show back to hotel, rinse & repeat next day.
Your daily office is on stage.
Required Skill Sets:
• Great communicator
• Experienced with Word & Excel.
• Proficiency in using various AV and video equipment.
• High level organizational skills with a problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
• Must have clean passport and ability to cross borders.
• Experience in performing arts center/theater environments.
This tour is run by a small, tight, very experienced team. Looking for someone who is accustomed to dynamic personalities, able to handle time sensitive requests and changes, forward thinking and detail oriented.
The ideal candidate will be based in the New York City / Long Island / New Jersey area but it's not a deal breaker, all are encouraged to apply.
This is a 1099 position
$500/day for show days
$250/day for travel/ off days
$40/day per diem
Single occupancy hotel rooms.
