About the Job:
Global feature film distribution and financing company based in Burbank, CA is seeking a full-time, in-house Editor and Creative Lead to be responsible for the ideation, creative development, and execution of video marketing assets for the companies slate of theatrical films. The position will be full-time, monthly salary, 5 days a week in our office located in Burbank.
The Editor will be responsible for the creative direction, concepting and stakeholders' sign off, as well as, the day-to-day editing of video content including, but not limited to; feature length trailers, promotion, EPK and behind-the-scenes vignettes, sales reels, co-branded vignettes, etc.
The job will include watching each movie (or read the screenplay for development titles), come up with 2-3 very different scripts/paper edits for review, provide 3-4 music options for each script and then lead the chosen script through execution to final delivery.
The editor will work closely with company stakeholders, film producers and directors, and company operation teams to ensure a highly creative and productive workflow in accordance with the companies' standard level of quality assurance across projects.
Primary Creative Responsibilities:
Provide marketing creative direction and strategy from ideation through delivery
Develop and deliver edit scripts, concepts, and/or paper edits for every project
Select and present music options for every project
Hands-on editing of the marketing assets for development, sales and distribution
Eagerness to find inventive solutions and set new trends in theatrical film marketing
Ability to work from a variety of sources (dailies, rough cuts, final features, multiple episodes etc).
Maintain familiarity with current culture video trends, social platforms, and advertising trends. Present weekly trend updates and recommend new approaches to creative direction to stakeholders.
Understanding of story and structure as it relates to multiple different genres
Creative direction and execution for all graphics, title cards, and motion graphics, etc. (Ability to create and execute GFX a plus.)
Creative direction and execution for sound design (Ability to mix a plus.)
Other Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage a schedule of projects
Prepare for and lead a weekly update meeting to receive feedback and approvals from stakeholders on schedule, process and creative direction
Develop and execute post-workflow process for projects
Maintains technical standards of all post-production content
Ability to juggle heavy workload and keep multiple projects on track.
Exhibits willingness to take on responsibilities outside of his/her job description and has the ability to respond to business demands in a fast-paced environment. Presents a positive and professional attitude to stakeholders and co-workers.
Editor is punctual. He/she maintains an efficient workflow and process and promptly communicates any issues to management.
Accurately documents work related information via work orders, etc. Manages assets and archives projects accordingly and understands delivery process.
Work Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3-5 years in editing in the entertainment industry with a minimum of at least 2 years experience specifically in feature film creative, preferably with a studio or creative agency
Skilled in non-linear editing and post-production
Experience as promo writer/producer and/or copywriting experience
Expert level understanding of Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite and AVID workflow
Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure while dealing with multiple projects going at a time
Strong sense of rhythm in both editorial/narrative and sound/music
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills; ample experience partnering with and presenting to stakeholders and clients of all levels
Prior experience in delivering high level creative on schedule
Compensation
Company will be offering a competitive monthly salary commensurate with applicants work experience
Education
Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent work experience
