Equipment Manager- San Fran Office

Award-winning, full-service video production company with offices in SF, LA and NY is looking to for a Equipment Manager in our San Francisco office. This position allows for the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks and work with video, audio, broadcast and lighting equipment, with the ultimate goal of producing professional video and live streaming events.
These tasks include managing the Equipment Room (Cameras, audio, lighting, cables, engineering , monitors, etc), understanding the gear required for production, shipping, operations and logistics of all equipment. The growth opportunity is to gain the knowledge to go on set for the arranging, connecting, operation of video and lighting equipment. The best candidates will be out-going, understand our industry, be a team-player, and are super pro-active.
The opportunity:
• Manage equipment inventory in San Fran office using inventory management systems. (RentalTrax)
• Responsible for pulling, packing, shipping, and tracking equipment, according to complex specification - both domestic and international
• Recommend efficient and effective ways to better manage, ship, and handle gear inventory
• Ensure that equipment is clean, tested, maintained; and in the best working conditions
• Arrange, track and complete repairs in-house or with the manufacturer
• Be the key liaison to outside rental houses, handling all rental contracts, price negotiations, within budget
• Stay abreast of new technology, equipment, trends and best practices in the industry
• Serve as the subject matter expert on all gear and consult with necessary internal staff and production teams in regard to budgetary impact and issues
• Technical setup and delivery at productions using in-house and rented equipment and working alongside other support technicians.
• Gather and interpret technical requirements for projects. Manage the process for quoting additional equipment and resources.
• Lifting and physical work are required, including climbing ladders
• Responsibly driving company vehicles with a valid driver's license.
Who you are?
• 3+ years of experience with Equipment/Gear management
• Strong knowledge of video, sound and lighting equipment within the production industry.
• Live streaming experience a plus
• Up to date on the latest video equipment, standards, and practices
• You have a high level of understanding of production workflow, strong foundational knowledge of production equipment (cameras, lighting, rigging, etc.)
• Solid Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills , with the ability to follow and create improved workflows.
• Must be tech savvy/ Knowledgeable in I.T.
• Experience using inventory management technology systems a plus
• Strong project management skills
• Experience with contracts or ability to learn
• Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of equipment .
• Candidate needs to be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times, meeting strict deadlines to ensure success.
