We are an independent film sales, distribution, and production company looking for an organized and efficient Accountant to join our team as head of the Accounting department. The position is responsible for tax compliance, planning, accounting and audit defense projects for the company, and any and all financial practices in regards to Film Sales and Distribution. Will provide assistance to CEO and COO with film projects, in addition to accounting related matters and general ledger projects.
We are an emerging company with a need for a dedicated and proactive individual to join our organization and revitalize our record keeping and bring more organization to our day-to-day financials. You will be working with and under a parent company, but alone at our offices.
Responsibilities
-Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
-Inspect account books and accounting systems to keep up to date
-Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
-Manage the printing and mailing of checks, overview the process and tracking of petty cash, and approve of any incoming invoices
-Handle Employee Payroll (We use ADP)
-Understand and handle revenue and invoicing in regards to Film Sales and Distribution
-Oversee taxes and abide by federal and state regulations ensuring prompt payment
Qualifications and Skills
-Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or related field
-5+ years accounting experience
-Plus if familiar with Film Distribution Financial Practices
-Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills
-Handles confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence and good judgment
-Well-organized, self-directed team player
-Additional experience in International accounting is a plus
-Must speak, read, and write in Chinese/Mandarin
