A leading international film, television and music entertainment company with core business activity in international licensing, production, and financing, seeks an attorney with 3+ years of entertainment legal experience at a major law firm (or a combination of major law firm and in-house experience). Must be a member of the California State Bar. This role will handle legal aspects of feature film and television development, production, and finance, including: structuring, drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements for above-the-line talent, acquisition of material, evaluating rights issues, confirming chain of title, guild issues, clearance matters, co-production agreements, and distribution agreements. He or she will also handle other day-to-day legal and business affairs-related tasks, as needed and assigned by the Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs, or the General Counsel.
This position requires an extremely capable individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, is self-motivated, detail-oriented and possesses strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Applicants should have the ability to work independently while also contributing to cross-functional teams, as well as managing multiple projects and meeting multiple deadlines. He or she should also demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations; have common sense, and a good sense of humor.
