OVERVIEW: Growing international TV and Feature Production company based in Los Angeles with an office in overseas seeks entrepreneurial HR executive with strong negotiation skills to manage boutique sized firm with an active film and television development and production slate. As a newly created position, this executive will be tasked in creating procedures and HR department with office and staff oversight to ensure a legally compliant, efficient and successfully run firm. Create guidelines for maintaining a positive, open-door policy and Covid-19 protected free environment once company returns to in person working 'on site' currently planned for after the Thanksgiving holiday. Hours: 9am-6pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILL SET:
• Start from ground floor and up in updating the current Employee Handbook for both the Los Angeles and International office
• Create efficient procedures using strong time management skills for effective day to day running of entertainment office
• Create an ''open door'' policy and physical presence for employees to have an opportunity and space to communicate freely
• Oversee company operations and employee productivity and performance management; ensure effective recruiting, onboarding and retention; build highly inclusive culture so team members thrive and goals met
• Protect company legally and morally by staying on top of state Covid-19 regulations; set up procedures and policies and ensure they are adhered to and followed
• Incumbent shall serve as advisor to senior personnel and company as a whole ensuring company is up to date with state laws regarding federal sexual harassment training, diversity, inclusion and equality; will interact with company Counsel regarding implementation of all new procedures and participate in employee reviews and raises, negotiation of future deals and existing employment contracts
• Ensure that all employees have documentation for personnel records with proof of inoculations prior to returning to office and assist with transition from remote to in person working conditions
• Incumbent with handle onboarding and offboarding and participate in hiring of new personnel
• Monitor performance; track and establish corrective measures as needed, prepare detailed current and forecasting reports
• Will assist in getting all employees set up on ADP payroll system including W-4's. 1- 9's, Benefits and 401K
• Position reports directly to Co - CEO's; collaborate with them and CFO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy and hiring needs; translate strategy into actionable goals
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3- 5 years + experience in Human Resources and office management with media or entertainment firm; boutique sized firm experience a +, experience in entrepreneurial settings or with start-ups also helpful
• Experience negotiating and dealing with employment contracts
• Up to date on California employment law and Covid-19 protocols
• An upbeat, can-do attitude who excels at providing assistance to senior management and supporting personnel
• Must be highly organized, detail oriented and possess team spirited demeanor
• Resourceful, efficient and must be possess emotional intelligence
• Must be confident in expressing to senior management what is needed to accomplish goals and remain legally compliant at all times
• Strong Operations experience, serving in the capacity or with similar duties as a COO a huge plus
• MAC/PC proficient
