This is an immediate hire for a full-time, remote, contractor position.

Position Summary
We are looking for a results-driven Director of Publicity to lead our efforts in growing podcast listenership and fandom, expanding our media presence. This role will replace our current external PR firm and contractor model with strategic in-house expertise that will be deeply integrated with our talent, production, social, and executive teams, focused on measurable audience growth.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations & PR
Develop and execute comprehensive media strategies to secure coverage for our executives, brand, podcasts, hosts, and featured stories across traditional and digital media outlets
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, podcasts, bookers and media personalities in relevant verticals
Create compelling press materials, media kits, and story pitches that resonate with target publications
Monitor and analyze media coverage, identifying opportunities to amplify successful narratives and cultural trends that relate to our shows and themes
Develop and execute media strategies that include coverage on media outlets' social platforms and, working with our Social Media team, lead on certain strategic social cross-promotions.
Host Development & Booking
Book our podcast hosts as guests on appropriate podcasts, television shows, radio programs, and speaking opportunities
Develop host positioning and talking points that showcase expertise while promoting our content
Cultivate relationships with bookers, producers, and other podcast hosts in complementary spaces
Coordinate cross-promotional opportunities and strategic partnerships
Audience Development Strategy
Analyze listener data, consumption patterns, attribution, and market trends to identify growth opportunities within your department.
Develop strategies to convert critical acclaim into sustained audience growth
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in PR, preferably in media, entertainment, or podcast industry
Existing relationships with media contacts
Proven track record of growing audiences and achieving measurable results, understanding of podcast ecosystem, trends, discovery mechanisms, and industry best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives
Proficiency with PR software, analytics tools, and Google Suite
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with creative teams
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience in podcast marketing or audio content promotion
Existing relationships with podcast hosts or industry influencers
Knowledge of podcast analytics platforms and audience measurement tools
Background in entertainment, journalism, or content creation
Interest in social impact and driving change
Success Metrics
This role will be evaluated based on:
Measurable growth in podcast downloads, subscribers, and listener retention
Increased media coverage and brand visibility across target publications
Successful booking of hosts on external platforms and shows
What We Offer
Salary of $70,000 - $85,000 - commensurate with experience
