Award-winning production company with a busy slate across scripted and unscripted features and series is looking for a mid-level Development Executive to help manage our slate while bringing in new ideas and maintaining relationships with directors, producers and executives. We are looking for a candidate whose primary experience is on the scripted side, although this position will cover both scripted and unscripted. The role is in person in NYC, with occasional travel.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with senior company executives to devise and execute overall development strategy.
• Keep abreast of industry news and intelligence to inform slate strategy.
• Form strategic relationships with writers, directors, agents, producers and buyers.
• Identify and cultivate new and existing talent.
• Manage existing slate through all phases of development.
• Work with company executives, agents and BA on negotiating deal terms for projects.
• Provide notes and creative and marketplace evaluation for all incoming submissions.
• Actively source and generate new project ideas, both original as well as with external producers and directors.
• Collaborate with the production team on setting up and running development shoots.
• Manage the creation and delivery of high-quality development materials including pitch decks, sizzles, and scripts.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in scripted programming at a network, agency, studio or production company
• Excellent writing, research, presentation, creative and storytelling skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects under time constraints
• Strong relationships with industry stakeholders
• Foundational knowledge of film landscape, trends and cultural conversations
• Understanding of scripted deal-making
• Producing experience an asset
