Celebrity-led boutique production company with network deal is seeking an experienced, dynamic, self-starting Development Executive for their LA office.
The ideal candidate is ''director or VP'' level with 7-10+ years of network, prod co, or agency experience, with a strong interest and/or understanding of the development-to-series pipeline in scripted
or unscripted (both ideally), is a true fan of all things pop culture, has a unique sense of creativity, and will be able to work independently.
Responsibilities include:
--Extensive research on new potential concepts--staying up-to-date on latest trends, news and content weekly for both inspiration and to further flesh out ideas in development, talent, production talent, and beyond.
--Drafting and creating pitch materials for projects including but not limited to writing copy, concept decks, one-sheets, drafting sizzle/concept tape scripts, etc.
--Assisting with producing tasks as needed, including working on storyboards, helping coordinate shoots, helping draft creative docs for pilots and presentations, and anything else as assigned.
--Leading edits of skypes, casting reels, stringing together sizzles, mood tapes, etc.
--Outreach and identifying new possible ''behind-the-scenes'' production partners, directors, producers, etc.
--Building relationships with creative talent and leading/joining pitches as needed
--Overseeing the tracking of projects, outreach, development slate, deals, etc. and internal & external meetings as needed.
--Supporting multiple projects across various genres and helping develop across multiple platforms.
Additional Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Editing abilities a plus but not required (AVID, Premiere, Final Cut, QuickTime)
• Strong creative writing abilities (writing samples a plus)
• Ability to handle highly sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Excellent written and verbal corporate communication skills
• Proactive problem solver with the ability to anticipate issues and alternatives
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Experience with talent, agents and showrunners
