Job Title: Coordinator, Development and Production (Full-time)
Production company headed by an award-winning female filmmaker of color is seeking a dedicated, ''can-do'' type to join our team as Development and Production Coordinator. This entry level position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day development and production operations of the department. The Coordinator will work directly with the company's principal and support a small team of executives. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will be eager, willing and able to jump in and perform any task that needs to be completed. Should be open to working extended hours with short notice.
Responsibilities Include:
• Coordinating all aspects of department and executives' schedules, including all meetings, calls and commitments at the campus
• Answering phones for the department and logging messages for executives. Serving as front line of offense and defense for Department to ensure that company's standards of excellence are maintained at all times
• Managing and maintaining department contacts
• Creating and maintaining department tracking grids, including a comprehensive and well-organized database of writers, directors, below-the-line crew with covering samples, credits, script notes, meeting notes, representation, and other relevant information
• Tracking scripted and unscripted television content. Keeping department apprised of television industry news relating to television series, showrunners, writers, directors, producers, industry deals, etc.
• Organizing and storing all project materials, story documents (e.g.: season arcs, episodic outlines, scripts), dailies, and episodic cuts
• Participating in and taking meticulous notes during calls, meetings and creative discussions
• Providing professional coverage, notes and creative input on scripts, books and cuts, as assigned
• Maintaining database of incoming pitches
• Reading and performing preliminary evaluation of incoming pitch materials, as requested
• Researching ideas, underlying IP, talent, and potential key production personnel hires, as needed
• Performing other related duties and projects, as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Minimum 1-year experience within a studio, network, or agency
• Passionate about storytelling and its social impact
