Position: Client Accounting Coordinator
Department: Client Accounting Department
Location: New York, NY
Major talent agency with offices in Los Angeles and New York is seeking a Client Accounting Coordinator specializing in Digital/Alternative payments to join our client accounting department in the NY office. In this role, candidates will learn how the accounts receivable side of how a talent agency works, with a concentration on deals made for our digital and alternative talent. The talent represented by our Digital/Alternative departments includes producers and personalities on unscripted television series, as well as social media influencers on YouTube and Instagram.
This is a mid-level role with opportunity of advancement and growth within the client accounting department. We are looking for candidates who are interested in pursuing a long-term role in entertainment finance or talent accounting.
Responsibilities include:
-- Handling phone calls and e-mails in regards to client payments
-- Processing client payments in a proprietary system
-- Interacting with production companies, ad agencies and payroll regarding client payments
-- Consulting agents, agents' assistants, and clients and their representatives regarding payment related inquiries
-- Raising and sending invoices for client payments as needed
-- Assisting with AR/payment reconciliations and collections
-- Assisting with overall operations and research for ad-hoc projects for the department and agency
Must be detail-oriented, be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and autonomous environment.
Experience with accounting for an entertainment company (studio, agency, union, production company, payroll, etc.) strongly preferred, but not mandatory.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Business Administration (a concentration in Accounting, Finance or Management preferred but not required)
Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook and 10-key
Comfortable screening phone calls
Multi-tasking & prioritizing urgent issues effectively
Discretion is essential
Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining strict attention to detail
