Looking for a Publicist in the Film & TV/Award Publicity Department to support the team in the Los Angeles office. This position is temp to possibly full-time, based in Los Angeles, and will ideally lead to future growth within the department and company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, willing to get their hands in, cares about the details, understands nuance of client relationships to deliver above and beyond, on client expectations.
Responsibilities:
• Strategizing, creating hit lists, pitching for feature placements and interview opportunities, creating blast timelines, managing publicity timelines and deadlines across all Film/TV campaigns.
• Proactive thinking for all titles across awards or national campaigns for narrative film, television, documentaries, documentary shorts, animation as well as events.
• Familiarity and relationships with awards press, national press (broadcast, radio, print, long lead), digital press, red carpet press and on occasion, international press.
• Awareness of trades and trade issue deadlines and pitching opportunities.
• Communicate with all guilds (AMPAS, PGA, WGA, DGA, SAG, ASC, ACE, SCL etc.) for upcoming timelines, awards shows, and award tribute opportunities.
• Report to EVP of Film/TV Awards & Events and Director of Film & TV Awards/National Awards Publicity.
• Create or maintain publicity communications documents including media pitches, press releases (on occasion), media alerts, schedules, client status documents, wrap reports, etc.
• Interacting with media and studio/television publicity client counterparts, talent management and maintaining oversight on talent schedules.
Familiarity with MuckRack and Constant Contact.
• Collect and send client requests and offers.
• Troubleshooting and being flexible. No job is too small on our team.
Requirements:
Candidates should be driven, extremely detail-oriented, know how to listen for client needs and execute efficiently and effectively. The publicist should be ready to take on more responsibility and should have come from a background of being resourceful, proactive, utilizing strategic thinking and ability to multi-task across several campaigns for a very fast-paced, information heavy environment.
MUST HAVE: Very strong, effective communication, strong writing and proofreading skills.
Looking for a professional, team player who works well with group-think as well as autonomous and open to feedback. Previous experience of at least 3-4 years in the awards space as Oscars and Emmy campaigns are the bulk of our main clientele.
