This job is an entry-level opportunity to learn everything about the independent film distribution landscape, from acquisitions, to marketing and social media, to operations and finance. The company is a new prestige independent distributor in the international film space and there is opportunity to grow in this role.
Key requirements are an interest in learning about the promotional life cycle of a film, from festival premieres through awards season, and an interest in independent film distribution specifically.
Attention to detail, strong verbal communication, and analytical writing skills are essential.
The person in the Assistant role should be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should also possess organizational skills and general office and computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, GSuite, Constant Contact/Mailchimp, and basic Photoshop skills.
The ideal candidate must be able to work with various levels of talent, filmmakers, press, and executives from across the world in a professional manner.
The Assistant will support an executive on the team while working closely with several other team members.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Assist with tracking films and planning schedules for major film festivals.
-Create and lay out event invitations on Photoshop.
-Assist in the development of marketing materials and social media campaigns across projects.
-Assist with awards submissions.
-Assist in tracking budgets and expenses for company's releases.
-Staff screenings and events for company's films in New York as needed.
-Meticulously maintain administrative documents including various status reports, tracking documents, and budgets.
