Freelance Job
Hello!
We are hiring an Assistant Editor (AE) for a new YouTube show launching this month.
We're looking for someone who's familiar with YouTube content, but more importantly, we want someone who is comfortable with Extremely tight timelines and a fast-paced environment.
Description:
The show is a deep-dive ''explainer,'' covering the latest news & changes to major media companies & platforms. Basically, this is a news-esque show about the online ecosystem for online digital creators. As a member of the freelance team, you will be working from home as the AE to our lead editor. This job will be similar to part-time work in that we'll be asking for 2-2.5 days out of your week. For roughly 2 days, you'll be working on episode assemblies. And for a few hours each week, we will ask you to gather assets for future episodes. The actual work we will need you to accomplish is straightforward, but don't let that fool you. We will ''throw you in the deep-end'' on Day One, and you will be expected to swim.
Job Duties:
You will have to download footage & audio
You will make Careful Selects
You will do the sync on a sizable amount of footage & audio once per week
You will create the Assembly for each episode per the Lead Editor's specifications
You may need to create a ''Version 2'' of the assembly for the first several weeks of the show as you learn our workflow (hence 2 days for assemblies, instead of one day)
Job Requirements:
1. You must have Good Internet. This job requires the ability to download roughly 150GB of footage within 3-4 hours.
2. A powerful computer / laptop / rig will likely be necessary to effectively do this job.
3. You must be comfortable with quick turnarounds. We'll be asking you to complete your initial episode assemblies within 24-36 hours of receiving footage & audio.
4. You must have excellent listening skills and take direction well. If you're not clear on a direction, ask for clarification. We want to make things efficient & smooth, which is only possible if you communicate clearly & hold producers to the same standard.
5. You must be very familiar with Adobe Premiere Pro.
6. Only those who work well under pressure need apply. We're looking for someone with know-how plus the level-headedness to act decisively when mishaps or schedule-changes occur.
Rates:
$300 per Project
One Project = A Completed Assembly (this may include 2 versions) + Asset Gathering
The rate for this job is negotiable to a small degree.
