NYC documentary film/tv company seeks an Accountant for its finance department. This person reports to the Director of Finance and will be working with the accounting functions associated with the company and its productions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual company financial closing; booking journal entries, running financial reports, reviewing accounts
Facilitates the closing process by coordinating monthly reporting for our business partner with all film and television projects
Responsible for monthly cost reporting for certain productions and development projects; works with producers or certain projects reviewing reports, and completing the closing.
Participates in certain accounting duties; select accounts payables, management of petty cash, reconciliation of corporate bank accounts, journal entries.
Initiates wires for company and certain productions
Assists with audits, 1099 forms, and preparation of YE financials
Coordinates with Tax accountants, filings and facilitating payments
Liaison with television projects' accounting and production teams
Supports the Director of Finance with ad hoc projects and requests
Qualifications and Experience
Quickbooks and/or Netsuite experience a plus!
Vista (EP)/Smart Accounting or other production accounting software experience required.
Prior experience in the accounting department of a production company, online media, or content creation company.
Organized with an eye for detail.
Team player with a sense of humor.
This role will be a hybrid remote and in-office until further notice. Interviews will be conducted over phone and Google Meet
