Account Coordinator

We are looking for an aggressive media relations professional with at least 3 years of solid PR experience (agency experience preferred). The key role and responsibilities of an Account Coordinator (AC) is to provide support to his/her assigned team and division. This will include, but is not limited to, providing resourceful industry intel and updating client reports, drafting press releases and creation of press materials, media pitches and lead in conference/feature submission, as well as general client and company support. In additional to being a team player, the AC will take an initiative on certain tasks.
Reporting directly to the Account Manager that leads the team, the AC may also be assigned to tasks by other members of the team or CEO. ACs will also play an integral role in overseeing and training interns within their designated team. As with all employees of MPR, AC's must follow the company policies described in the Company Handbook, attend all necessary internal meetings, and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times while working to instill a positive work environment at the firm.
A successful AC will show proficiency in completing the following activities:
Company & Team Responsibilities
Participate in brainstorming, office activities, staff meetings and select client meetings
Meet company, team and client deadlines in a timely manner
Effectively prioritize and multi-task across company and client duties assigned
Answer in-bound phone and email inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Provide research, presentation and new business meeting support
Manage and train company interns successfully per internship program
Track weekly hours spent on company timesheets
Contribute to the company blog
Execute additional tasks assigned by your supervisor or senior member as needed
Active in social media
Promote positive company culture among your peers and be a team player
Client Responsibilities
Develop a good understanding of the competitor landscape and relevant industries
Respond to client, team, and supervisor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Stay updated on industry trends and news, provide resourceful intel for clients
Update client status reports, provide action points for Supervisor to share with clients
Provide a succinct first draft of press releases and company announcements
Creation of client press materials, fact sheets and pitch drafts
Finalize media lists and databases for PR campaign approval, ensure they are updated
Ownership of media pitches and successful coverage bookings
Lead on key submissions for media features, events/conferences and award as required
Event coordination and preparation
Research and analysis reporting
Help support on ROI analysis and quarterly reports
Help prepare clip books and quarterly reports
Execute additional tasks assigned by your supervisor or senior member as needed
Professionally communicate with clients on a weekly basis and as needed
Media Relations
Ability to confidently jump on the phone to pitch a variety of stories to journalists
Ability to confidently and professionally build working relationships with journalists and influencers outside of the office - setting up coffees, lunches etc
Ability to actively seek out opportunites with journalists for clients and find out what upcoming features they're working on
Desired Skills & Experience
Minimum 1-2 years experience working in Digital Media or Marketing PR for brands, ideally online and interactive entertainment clients.
Proven track record of achieving high client satisfaction and securing media results
Success building and managing client relationships
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong strategic consulting skills
Excellent organizational skills
BA or BS in Business, Communications or related degree
Agency experience preferred
Strong multi-tasker and proactive thinker
