SUMMARY
The Audio Technology Coordinator (ATC) will oversee the NMC Audio Technology program, which offers students the opportunity to earn an Associate's degree and/or certificates/certifications in the field of Audio Technology. The ideal person would be forward-thinking, creative, and one who can articulate a ''vision'' for future growth possibilities within the Audio Tech department. This person should have attention to detail, good analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and constituents of varying technical backgrounds. This position requires excellent organizational and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and/or REGISTRATIONS
Required:
• Professional Certifications in Audio Technology
-or-
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (audio engineering, acoustics, computer technology, etc.)
-and-
• Minimum of four years of professional experience in the following areas: digital audio including: industry-standard DAW recording platforms (Pro Tools, Logic Pro); software-based mastering, and FX tools; digital and analog recording; microphone techniques; live sound; and proficiency on both Mac and PC platforms.
• Apple software certification Logic Pro and Pro Tools
Preferred:
• Minimum of two years teaching experience in Audio Tech courses at the post-secondary level
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Student lab assistants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Develop and Coordinate the NMC Audio Technology Program
• Develop the academic schedule of courses for each semester
• Develop the non-credit schedule of courses for each semester, including EES courses and Professional Trainings
• Provide academic and non-credit student advising throughout the year
• Develop and maintain a network with industry professionals
• Provide weekly updates to Director of Music Programs
Teach each semester in an area of personal expertise:
• Teach up to 16 contact hours per academic year
• Supervise ''Open Lab'' times and assisting students with technology and projects
Oversee NMC Audio Tech Labs and Classroom
• Stay abreast of new technologies and tools, making recommendations for needed software, hardware, updates, etc.
• Provide or secure routine maintenance of Audio Tech equipment
Oversee non-credit Professional Training classes
• Create and plan an annual calendar of trainings
• Teach up to two trainings per year
• Recruit qualified instructors for additional trainings
Develop and implement an annual student recruiting plan
• Develop and maintain a database of potential students
• Develop and implement an annual recruiting strategy targeting regional students
Develop annual comprehensive marketing and promotion strategies in collaboration with campus promotional resources
• Develop a marketing plan for recruiting specific potential student target groups and regional, statewide, national, international
• Make use of various marketing tools and social media, web, print media, campus publications, advertisements
• Create and maintain a community presence and Open Houses, Student Tours, Demonstration/Performance Events
In consultation with the Director of Music Programs, perform all work within the allocated budget.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
