The Global Income Tracking Department plays an integral role in maximizing revenue collections, while bringing to attention issues regarding the company's revenue and internal processes that may have a direct impact on revenue collection and income processing.
The primary purpose of this position is to support the general income tracking team and initiatives. This individual must have a solid base knowledge of music industry practices and revenue streams and will invest themselves in learning and developing an understanding of the department's mission to identify and collect on unreported and underreported income streams. Works under moderate supervision.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
The Income Tracking Associate will provide support to the sound recording income tracking team. This individual will maintain regular revenue reports, oversee data management and research initiatives, will assist in identifying incorrect revenue reporting and will research and analyze data industry trends.
Other core responsibilities include:
• Assisting in the discovery and recovery of unpaid and underpaid revenue worldwide;
• Oversee SoundExchange Rights Owner and Featured Artist accounts;
• Assisting in the updating and maintaining regular industry analysis and trend reports;
• Proactively reviewing and analyzing distribution reporting's from key accounts to ensure revenue received is full and proper;
• Fielding income tracking and revenue analysis related inquiries from other departments.
Outline of Specific Functions:
• Maintaining departmental ''client query'' tracking reports, assuring that all incoming queries and requests are promptly and acknowledged by appropriate departmental personnel and ultimately resolved in a timely manner;
• Maintaining SoundExchange Accounts for both Rights Owner and Featured Artist assets;
• Providing support to third-party vendors and service providers;
• Assisting with the review of distributions received from key ''performance'' sources;
• Assisting in departmental research and ad-hoc analysis projects, including highly confidential projects;
• Assisting with review of contractual and third-party and Ancillary licensing agreements and statements to ensure and enforce compliance;
• Wrangling statement data from payment sources as needed;
• Assisting with booking third-party licensing revenue;
• Assisting in the review of Neighboring Right's income to ensure all requests are responded to in a timely manner;
• Updating and maintaining regular departmental tracking reports; and
• Providing general support to income tracking team members and other departments as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What you'll need to succeed:
• Bachelor's degree in music, business or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Minimum of two years related experience required.
• Outstanding verbal, written communication and organization skills required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with ability to perform advanced formulas, pivot tables, ''what if'' statements, data/sorts etc.
• Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized, with an ability to manage large workloads, prioritize demands under the pressure of deadlines and show discretion with confidential materials.
• The ability to work with numbers, spot trends and draw meaningful conclusions from data, using analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to problem solve and find data-based resolutions.
• Willingness to adapt and acquire new skills as new technologies emerge.
• Self-starter work initiative and an ability to work independently and with a team.
• SQL, DAX and Python knowledge a plus.
