Concord AV is seeking a Venue Production Manager proficient in lighting, audio, and video to join our team of professionals. Successful candidates will have a thorough knowledge of technical production, and project management. The Venue Production Manager is the primary point of contact and account manager for venues, where Concord AV is the exclusive vendor. This position will collaborate with Studio RRD Design staff, and ADI audio visual staff on larger scale projects taking place in the venue.
The Venue Production Manager will coordinate with Studio RRD and ADI staff for a meticulous advance process, accounting for every potential need and obstacle in order to successfully run events of all sizes. This position is responsible for fully planning the technical framework and support systems needed to realize a client's aesthetic, including managing budgets, ensuring the safety and quality of all events, and collaborating with other vendors and clients to execute a successful event.
Expected Qualifications:
- Experience in all disciplines of technical production and design is welcome, whether theatrical, event, concert, broadcast, film/photography, retail, exhibit, or architectural.
- Rich experience across several fields, 4+ years of seasoned and varied work as in production, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Full proficiency in industry standard software tools (Vectorworks, LW, etc.), as well as cross-industry standard office tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Unflappable, adaptable, and able to maintain positivity in a fast-paced environment.
- Successful history managing stagehand labor and leading independent projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in some field of Production, Lighting, Audio, or Equivalent Technical field or demonstrably relevant program.
- Comprehensive and evolving knowledge of lighting and audio technology and the technical systems of temporary events staging. Rigging and build knowledge is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of technical production for all events at Skylight at the Refinery, and other venues as they come online.
- Collaborating with Studio RRD and ADI to set up systems and streamline processes for quoting events, client protocols, and budgeting at these venues, as well as the design and installation of initial repertory systems.
- Maintain the lighting and audio in house system, ensuring that all equipment remains in good working order.
- Conduct client walkthroughs alongside the Skylight Team, providing the client with a thorough understanding of the existing system's capabilities. Identify and plan for logistical limitations and design opportunities.
- Communicate with clients and vendors regularly to create a schedule, define scope, and advance production needs.
- Create and coordinate paperwork for lighting, audio and any other applicable disciplines, including Vectorworks drafting, schedules, estimates, and more.
- Directly assess production needs (lighting, sound, video, staging equipment, labor, heavy equipment, power, production support, etc.) and ripple information out to appropriate providers. Collaborate with Studio RRD and ADI staff when appropriate.
- Create estimates and budgets in accordance with Concord AV's operation procedures, and provide recommendations for cost efficiencies.
- Manage the budget for shows that utilize the existing infrastructure, collaborate with Studio RRD and ADI design staff to budget larger shows that require a larger scope.
- Direct the onsite design and operation of an event: run crews, focus lights, run basic sound, collaborate with console operators, and interface with clients and partner vendors.
- Run smaller scale events autonomously through pre-production, load in, event day and strike. Collaborates with Studio RRD/ADI for events with larger design and production scopes.
- Develops strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction, and helping to secure a relationship that goes beyond the Skylight venues.
- Additional work on Studio RRD, or ADI specific jobs outside of Skylight venues, as time allows.
This is a full-time exempt salaried position with a starting salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This is paid on a bi-weekly basis and includes health insurance, and other benefits.?
