THE POSITION:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced team dedicated to building a digital world where kids can thrive! The Content Coordinator will be focused on our TikTok partnership, helping them to curate videos and improve TikTok for Younger Users, a limited version of the app designed for kids under age 13. Reporting to the Sr. Editor, this person will support the management of a team of evaluators dedicated to reviewing TikTok content for quality and developmental appropriateness. The coordinator will also be responsible for understanding our developmentally based rubric for content selection, will establish a deep understanding of the digital content landscape, and stay on top of trends for kids ages 2-12.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Support the training and management of a large team of freelance reviewers, allocate, track and edit reviews to meet ambitious deadlines
Become an expert on Common Sense's proprietary rubric and ensure the review team applies it accurately and consistently
Oversee the quality control of the review team's performance, providing timely written and ''in-person'' feedback, support, and training as necessary
Use our proprietary content management system and work with the product development team to maintain and enhance it
Stay on top of streaming/technology trends, research, and developments
Liaise with Editorial and Business Development teams to communicate project needs and updates
Work with editorial staff on additional projects and/or duties as needed
WHAT WE NEED TO SEE ON YOUR RESUME:
Background in child development, children's media, and/or a related field
Demonstrated experience in managing a team or evaluation process to advance an organization's mission and goals
Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships and communicating with freelance staff and/or reviewers
Expertise in and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in media
Knowledge of social media and its related pop-culture trends related to kid content
Minimum 2 years experience in an editorial, technical or project management capacity, preferably for a child/parent audience
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment and delegate workflow
Ability to work efficiently and work flexible hours on request
