This is a Full Time Job
PURPOSE: To oversee the day-to-day functioning of the Channel Operations group and provide support and guidance to all international joint venture channels in the areas of programming, marketing, and production.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure that programming information is properly and promptly communicated to the channels
• Ensure that the channels stay “on brand”
• Communicate with channel management on a regular basis.
• Oversee air checks and monitor original productions.
• Stay on top of all marketing-related initiatives.
• Become familiar with all affiliate and ad sales rate cards, license agreements with the channel, and their various organizational charts and personnel.
• Become familiar with all programming grids.
• Insure that programming delivery schedules are maintained.
• Review on-air promos.
• Provide reports and updates to management on channel operations.
• Help monitor channel websites for brand compliance.
• Assist in coordinating local productions including Red Carpet events.
• Responsible for coordinating live events transmissions with channels.
• Responsible for organizing all channel-related events taking place in Los Angeles.
• Monitor and analyze ratings data on a regular basis.
• Participate in the planning of, and negotiations for, the launch of new JV channels worldwide.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum of five years experience in an international television environment with additional marketing and/or production and/or research and ratings experience preferred.
• College degree required.
• Strong organizational skills are a must, as is the ability to juggle many tasks at one time and change gears quickly.
• Ability to initiate projects and see them through to completion.
• Previous experience with channel launches a plus.
• Some travel involved.
• Spanish language fluency (written and spoken) is required.
• The successful candidate will take a pro-active approach to the job and exhibit excellent people skills.
• Professional and friendly demeanor.
• Prior management experience required.
• Good knowledge of technical issues (formats, electronic delivery options, etc.)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
