REPORTS TO: Supervisor
SUPERVISES: N/A
PURPOSE & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Setup and fulfill inbound and outbound transmissions requests for NBCUniversal entities including but not limited to Production, Post, Studio, New Media, Online and International. Ensure delivery and distribution of domestic and international satellite, fiber and IP feeds according to company approved technical specifications as well as client satisfaction of all work performed.
• Facilitate inbound and outbound satellite, fiber and IP feeds
• Route and monitor all feeds throughout broadcast facility
• Troubleshoot routing paths and equipment internally as well as with outside vendors
• Assist monitoring 24/7 network programming
• Maintain close communication with Supervisor(s) regarding all maintenance and hardware or software failures
• Document, track and alert Supervisor(s) of all equipment issues
• Ensure all technical specifications are met and quality control guidelines are followed
• Communicate effectively and professionally; convey production details while adhering to overall department standards
• 24/7 responsibilities related to support of production and delivery of feeds
• Additional duties as needed and assigned by Supervisor(s)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• 3+ years in Broadcast/Cable facility and TOC environment required
• Candidate must have understanding of production techniques
• Thorough knowledge of fiber feeds, satellite arcs and transmissions routing
• Must have vast knowledge of playback equipment (Digibeta, HDcam, XDcam), video standards & conversion (NTSC, PAL), patch bays and routing devices
• Familiarity with satellite IRD setup and L-Band routing
• Must be able to troubleshoot signal flow (TBC, Waveform, Vectorscope, Audio Meters)
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally as part of a diverse team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced, deadline intensive environment
