Overview:
The Assistant Director of Stadium Events is an integral part of our event team and is responsible for driving revenue and building relationships through sales and event operations. This is a full-time, in-office position that requires you to work long hours in a fast-paced, team-based environment. This is a newly created position with the organization to match the growth of events at Huntington Park.
Position Responsibilities:
• Serve as a key piece of events team.
• Build relationships with local event planners, corporate planners, and decision-makers to promote Huntington Park's event offerings.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold outreach, client referrals, and database research.
• Responsible for achieving and exceeding individual and team revenue targets.
• Work with sponsorship and ticket sales teams to package special event opportunities with partner or hospitality activations.
• Collaborate with operations, grounds, marketing, ticketing, sponsorship, and creative teams to support event execution and maximize revenue.
• Work with all events from beginning to end including walk throughs, rate and contract negotiations, pre-event planning, food and beverage planning, staffing, load-in/out, and overall event execution.
• Provide superior customer service to clients before, during and after each event.
• Serve on the comprehensive events team for large scale stadium events with attendance of 10,000.
Other Duties:
• Hosting and entertaining prospective and current clients in suite & hospitality areas on gamedays when applicable. Other than these instances, this position will not have any assigned duties or expectations on regular season home games.
• Position will have substantial involvement with the Holiday Lights event that runs each Winter.
Qualification Requirements:
• Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
• 1 - 4 years of related experience with a working knowledge of local and/or regional markets, event or venue operations, sales or marketing in the event industry is required.
• Must be able to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Creative thinker who can present new event ideas and ways to maximize Huntington Park year-round.
