Coordinator, Major League Clubhouse

POSITION SUMMARY:
The coordinator position assists the Home Clubhouse Manager in maintaining the equipment and clubhouse operation year-round. In addition to daily tasks during the season, this position will help prepare for and run Spring Training, make pertinent decisions for the good of the club and clubhouse department, assist in preparing for special event days, and help gear up for other major events that take place during the season and potential postseason. The coordinator will help guide and keep the rest of the seasonal staff on task. Traveling to some of the necessary away games during the season will be expected.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
• Manage the clubhouse operations, including keeping it clean, organizing equipment, and ensuring the clubhouse is ready for the team.
• Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and uniforms, including ordering the uniforms and equipment.
• Work every home game to ensure quality and safety protocols are followed.
• Hire and train new Clubhouse employees and coworkers.
• Assist in packing and organizing for road trips and unpacking upon the team's return.
• Travel with the team to assist them on road trips as needed.
• Wash and maintain the cleanliness of uniforms, towels, and workout loops.
• Set up and replenish coolers, cups, and batting practice equipment.
• Coordinate with the train staff to ensure pre- and post-game meals are available.
• Coordinate with team personnel to ensure the needs of players and staff are met.
• Set up and organize the clubhouse before and after games, practices, and team events
• Providing amenities for players and umpires, including lodging and meals Track Clubhouse budget.
• Work and live in Arizona for Major League Spring Training each season
• Lead seasonal staff in daily Clubhouse responsibilities.
• Address any issues with seasonal staff with professionalism.
• Maintain professional relationships with players, coaches, and staff members.
• Maintain balance with office tasks and equipment operations.
• Participate during in-season and off-season planning meetings.
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• 3 years of experience working in a Major or Minor League Clubhouse required.
• At least 1 year of experience working in Spring Training is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Quickbooks.
• Capable of tracking large inventory numbers accurately.
• Understand the game and functionality of baseball.
• Honest, earnest, hardworking, and professional.
• Capable of making sound decisions to help maintain the continuity of the clubhouse operation.
• Ability to operate independently and think logically to prioritize matters of importance.
• Must be detail-oriented
• Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with members of the Club's front office, on-field staff, and players.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Outlook, Excel, Word, and
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work a flexible schedule with long hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Travel will be required. The following physical requirements are essential to the duties and responsibilities of this role:
• Work Environment: The position requires flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel to different locations (domestic and international) will be required, which may involve extended stays away from home.
• Location: The position will be primarily based at Coors Field but will spend significant time at our Spring Training Facility in Salt River Fields. It will involve regular exposure to outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, and active participation in individual and group physical activities.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Mobility: Frequent walking, standing, running, bending, kneeling, and reaching are required for training sessions, assisting athletes, and setting up equipment.
• Manual Dexterity: Ability to manipulate training equipment, weight room tools, and technology such as Force Plates, laptops, and other performance tracking devices.
• Lifting & Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and transport training equipment, weights, and other materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Vision & Hearing: Ability to observe training sessions, monitor players' movements, and listen to verbal communication and feedback from players and coaches.
• Travel: Frequent travel by car and plane to various affiliate locations, requiring the ability to carry and transport equipment.
• Environmental Exposure: The position involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments and interacting with varying weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, rain) during games, practices, and events.
• Mental and Emotional Stamina: The role demands excellent mental focus, decision-making, and interpersonal communication.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
• Annual salary of $56,000 - $60,000. This is a regular status, full-time position.
• As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the Colorado Rockies consider relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
