Door & Hardware Technician
POSITION SUMMARY:
This role will install, maintain, and repair locks, hardware, and electronic access controls for Coors Field and McGregor Square. This role will also be responsible for performing general building maintenance and repairs and equipment maintenance and repairs (carts, lifts, forklifts).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain door hardware inventory and keying for the stadium. Must be able to work on all types of door hardware and make and track key inventory.
• Install, repair, and maintain locks and security systems.
• Cut and duplicate keys.
• Open locked doors and safes.
• Monitor and maintain overhead doors and oversee contractors working on them.
• Maintain various equipment throughout the facility, including carts, lifts, trucks, etc.
• Works with door and hardware contractors to obtain proposals for door and hardware replacement or repairs on large projects.
• Maintain and repair stadium seating.
• Maintain seats, benches, cup holders, restroom fixtures and dispensers.
• Repair and renumber all seats, overhaul all turnstiles, restock inventories, perform general maintenance on all seat hardware used during the season
• Maintain proper preventive maintenance program and work order request program records. Receive and complete work orders via Angus (work order platform) in accordance with standard trade practices.
• Set up and clean-up project areas, prepare areas for a project, and inspect completed work for the highest quality.
• Maintain, clean, and organize work area and workshop.
• Display quality-conscious work while maintaining strict attention to detail.
• Communicate clearly with supervisor. Carry a portable radio, stay in constant communication with the central base station, respond to all engineering service calls, prioritize work orders, and maintain equipment efficiently, safely, and accident-free.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform repairs on concrete and caulking of concrete.
• Utilize blueprints, equipment diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
• Assists in other work areas in the department or ballpark as needed or directed by the Assistant Director of Engineering.
• Expected to exercise independent judgment in times of immediate need or emergencies.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and the ability to order from suppliers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• A valid driver's license is required because you may be required to drive a company vehicle during working hours.
• Experience in the field or completion of a locksmith training program.
• Prefer someone with carpentry skills – measuring, cutting and sanding.
• Concrete skills for repairs – measuring, preparing area, and patching spalled concrete.
• Experience in Keywatcher or E-track System for tracking key check-out or similar preferred.
• Certification or schooling showing knowledge or repair skills of building equipment preferred.
• Computer Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat or PDF software, preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Experience with operating equipment used in the building trades – forklifts, lifts, carts, etc.
• Consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
• Professional communication and demeanor.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:
• Schedule: Must be able to work Mon. through Fri. 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. There may be times when overtime may be required due to project requirements such as special game day duties, special event schedules, concerts, season preparation, emergencies, etc. Advance notice will be given for schedule changes whenever possible.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, tools, and materials (up to 50 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs).
• Ability to carry and maneuver street signs, barricades, parts, and tools to and from work sites, including in confined or challenging spaces.
• Ability to frequently use ladders, scaffolding, and lifts to access elevated work areas such as rooftops, ceilings, and various systems in tall buildings while maintaining balance working in elevated or awkward positions.
• Frequent kneeling, squatting, or crouching to access seats or equipment in tight spaces or on floors and ceilings.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting to install, repair, and maintain seating systems.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, sometimes in uneven or outdoor terrain, to perform routine inspections and repairs across various areas of the property (Parking Garage, and outdoor spaces).
• Ability to use hand, power, and diagnostic equipment with precision and safety.
• Ability to manipulate small parts and components in confined or hard-to-reach spaces.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms (e.g., turning valves, using tools, and repairing components) during routine work.
• Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions, warning signals, and environmental sounds (e.g., operating machinery, equipment, alarms, or calls for assistance).
• Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to:
• Indoor environments (offices, mechanical rooms, hallways, etc.).
• Outdoor environments (rooftops, parking lots, grounds, etc.) in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work in high and low temperatures, dusty or noisy environments, and near chemicals or other potentially hazardous materials.
• Work may involve exposure to high noise levels; appropriate hearing protection is provided and required as appropriate.
• Be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices), carry and climb ladders, work from heights, work in small crawl spaces, balance, stoop, kneel.
• Regular exposure to all weather conditions, both in extreme cold and heat.
SALARY RANGE:
• This is a regular status, full-time position.
• As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the Colorado Rockies consider relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
