POSITION SUMMARY:
The Colorado Rockies are looking for a Digital Content & Social Assistant to elevate the team's social media, with the production of engaging content to be distributed across all club platforms. The ideal candidate will bring experience creating visual content for various social platforms, including, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. They will demonstrate excellent judgment, instincts, and a sharp feel for the social media landscape while collecting, producing, and distributing content on behalf of the club daily.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, produce, and post daily social content that keeps up with trends while adhering to the Colorado Rockies brand guidelines and standards.
• Work within department to develop editorial plans and social content to further connect our brand and our players with fans
• Ideate, produce, shoot, design, and edit short and long-form video content for team social channels
• Generate original ideas, compelling storylines, and develop fresh angles and perspectives for content execution
• Film and edit game action to deliver real-time content both at home and select road trips
• Cover additional Colorado Rockies events including community initiatives, practice, press conferences, and other team events and produce captivating content that engages both avid and casual fans
• Assist with social graphics, including manipulating templates for video and static purposes
• Communicate creative ideas in a collaborative & open environment
• Collaborate with peers across departments (graphic design, corporate partnerships, community, communications, marketing) to create customized content that fulfills organizational goals
• Update and maintain video assets, multimedia databases, and archives
• Other duties as assigned
• Assist with posting to and managing the team's social media accounts
• Monitor content trends and community management opportunities across all platforms
• Identify and interact with influencers, creating strategic relationships to enhance drive reach and brand consumption
• Actively contribute ideas for stories and content for various internal platforms (i.e. advertising, marketing, Rockies Magazine Blog, etc.), also assisting in editing content
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with posting to and managing the team's social media accounts
• Monitor content trends and community management opportunities across all platforms

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to share a reel, portfolio, and/or collection of prior, relevant work – applications without a reel or portfolio will not be considered.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience creating various types of media for posting across web and social platforms for a sports team or sports entity
• Extensive/Advanced knowledge and experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Photoshop
• Adept at motion graphic design, design conventions, and post-production process
• Organized, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to operate at the speed of digital – taking advantage of both proactive and reactive opportunities to devise relevant social content
• Social Media Experience: Deep understanding of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok etc., and optimizing content to perform on each platform
• Must have an awareness of and interest in professional baseball including the cross-section of sports, music, pop culture, fashion, art, and entertainment
• Must be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends and all Colorado Rockies and Coors Field events, including events held on weekends, nights, and holidays
• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, public relations or related field required.
• Experience shooting and editing baseball games/workouts/activities (pro or college)
• Experience in shooting with professional camera equipment, particularly Sony Cameras and accessories
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of video formats, codecs, and transcoding
• Experience with content management software
• Bilingual - Spanish speaker/writer a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:
• Spring Training, regular season and postseason (Feb-Oct) hours are non-traditional, including frequent nights and weekends with game preparation/coverage. May include up to 30% travel Feb-Oct.
• The offseason (Nov-Jan) features traditional work hours with various exceptions for special events
SALARY RANGE:
$47,000 to $51,000 per year. This is a full-time position eligible for all company benefits.
