Cobalt Blue Media
Executive Intern
CBM is a small music label specializing in niche genres such as: Ambient, World (other), Neo-Classical, experimental electronic, and their sub-genres. You'll be the third member of the admin team and will be trained to be the company's point person in several capacities.
Since we have many offerings, we can customize your internship to focus on the skills you want to learn the most. This internship allows you to be as involved as you would like to be.
Opportunities include:
Onboard music to top level music sync libraries.
Similar to the startups, CBM has an existing relationship with some of the top music libraries in the USA. You'll be given music with instructions on how to properly file each piece for maximum exposure, using metadata, within each website's system. This is invaluable as it is an essential skill for any music creator.
Onboarding music and artists onto two emerging music platforms.
CBM has been invited to be one of the first content providers for ''Panjea'' which is based in London and positioned to be a leader in global music distribution.
In addition, we have the opportunity to put our main artist onto another growing site for professional performers.
You will build relationships with the professionals at these two companies as you learn how each system operates and their requirements. As you progress, it will become natural to ensure all metadata maximizes discovery.
A/R experience.
Learn how to listen like a label executive.
We are looking to enter the playlist cultivation game and will help you become a great critic of what fits on a playlist and what doesn't. You will become an expert on several genres of music as we slowly expand our offerings.
This will require a new kind of listening. It isn't listening for enjoyment but rather as a critic to ensure only the best and proper music fits onto our playlists, which will give our listeners the best possible product.
You will be guided and can ask questions at any point. You'll quickly learn how to listen and provide feedback to up and coming talent. You will on occasion have direct interactions with the artists as well.
Marketing
Curating and labeling images, writing calls to action, engaging on SM, and even website updates. You will be involved in the marketing efforts of new albums, live events, and other offerings that CBM will be involved in over the next several months.
You are welcome to bring your own ideas and enthusiasm to this internship. We are a young company that is open to all new strategies in the ever changing multimedia entertainment and edutainment industry.
**Optional: represent label in L.A. at international pro music conference (November)
