This is a Full Time Job
As a part of CNN's flagship Amanpour Video Edit team this position is required to edit to a very high standard on all content and elements for and around CNN's flagship Amanpour shows. In this role you will understand the different demands required to edit both effectively and creatively using Adobe Premiere Pro and in delivering the Amanpour show edits to CNN, CNNI, to PBS and all other platforms.
You'll build a strong collaborative partnership with the Post-Production Manager in London, and will use your keen interest in, and knowledge of, production workflows to communicate and champion new workflow implementations including Multiplatform changes to the wider Amanpour Video Editor team. You will champion strong collaboration between Producers, Photojournalists and Amanpour Editors when creating stories and shows, advising on aspects of shooting and post-production techniques that will enhance the final product.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Video Editing: edited content will include interview blocks, VOs, packages through to complete shows construction, and post-production for both live and taped programs as well as evergreen shows, using software such as Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects. High quality and time-efficient video editing to create quality stories that meets the high standards for delivery of Amanpour content on CNN and PBS
• Video Edit Production: Collaborate with producers, Control room, MCR and Graphics personnel on a creative and editorial 'vision' at the pre-production stage to streamline and enhance the Amanpour show. Working with the video team to determine a specific look and feel required to ensure high quality.
• Technology and Workflows: Work on a variety of projects - from multiple edits, testing and troubleshooting of workflows, software, and equipment, to pro-actively building collaborative working practices with the Amanpour editorial, engineering, and newsgathering partners.
• Media Management: Take responsibility for the housekeeping of the Amanpour show. Making sure project media and graphics kits are easily accessible to team members. Enable media to be efficiently shared across multiple locations.
Qualifications & Experience…
• Demonstrable experience editing long-form programming
• Expertise in the use of Premiere Pro edit software, Apple Mac operating system, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop software
• A broad understanding of technology including servers and media asset managers
• A self-starter with a history of delivering exceptional results
• A desire to help people and work with the team thinking through and resolving difficult situations for the best of the business and the employees
• Excellent written and verbal English and experience working to a style guide is required
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
