Summer Paid Intern - Digital Research Data Strategy

The Team

The CNN Digital Research & Analytics Data Strategy, Operations, and Support team plays a key role in collecting, validating and processing performance data for CNN Digital's growing portfolio of products across web, mobile, social and emerging businesses. CNN is the #1 digital news brand reaching millions of consumers every day.

The Job
• As an intern with the CNN Digital Research Data Strategy team, you will get hands on experience with every aspect of CNN Digital.
• Our team collects data for every department at CNN Digital and we work with these teams to understand how to use the data to optimize their business practices.
• We are administrators of the data collection tools, strategists for designing data collection implementations, project managers of ongoing implementation activities, arbiters of data validation, educators for stakeholders that are looking for guidance, and evangelizers for those that aren't.
• You, as our intern, will manage user access to our reporting tools, assist internal clients in pulling simple data requests, attend cross functional team meetings, document new implementation efforts, manage data processing (ETL) in Domo, and help design any new data implementations.

The Essentials
• A passion for understanding is vital.
• Detailed note-taking and organizational skills.
• A general understanding of data systems.
• Experience gathering, analyzing and presenting data.
• Strong interest in/experience with digital properties (websites and apps).
• Experience with Google Analytics is a plus, experience with Adobe Analytics (Omniture) is a huge plus.
• Experience with Domo, Tableau, PowerBI or other data visualization tools is a plus.
• Experience with backend data systems (AWS/Azure/Hadoop) optional.
• SQL coding experience optional.

Summer 2020 program dates are June 1st through August 7th. Interns are paid a competitive-wage based on location and relocation is not provided. Participation in the internship program is reserved for students who are currently enrolled or within 6 months post-graduation. Most positions are targeted to upperclassmen and graduate students.
