What does our department do?
• The CNN Digital Audience Development & Analytics team is responsible for tracking and optimizing content across different touch-points including, but not limited to: SEO, Social, Newsletters, partnerships, and paid distribution networks. With a detailed understanding of digital audience behaviors, the goal of the Audience Development team is to increase audience size, engagement and CNN Digital revenues.
What will you be doing?
The Audience Development Intern will:
• Report to the Editorial Insights Analyst on the Audience Development & Analytics team at CNN Digital.
• Work in a live digital newsroom, supporting editors and producers with real-time data analysis on audience trends and user behavior.
• Help to drive deep insights on digital audience segmentation for both existing and new audiences for CNN and its properties.
• Assist in performing real time data analysis on audience trends & user behavior.
• Be involved in synthesizing disparate information sources into actionable recommendations.
What do we need from you?
• This internship is targeted to college juniors, seniors and graduate students with a concentration in Marketing, Journalism or related area of study, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
• Have a passion for data and can analyze content performance and audience behavior.
• Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
• Exposure to, or knowledge of SEO, Social, and other digital data tools like Adobe Analytics, Chartbeat, Tableau, and Google Analytics is a big plus.
• Knowledge of general website and analytics tools (Omniture/Adobe Analytics preferred)
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
• The ability to perform with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrate creativity and problem-solving skills and communicate complex messages to diverse audiences.

Program dates are January 21st through April 19th.
Interns are paid at least minimum wage ($15/hour), up to 20 hours/week, and relocation is not provided.
Requirements:
• Must be currently enrolled or within 6 months post-graduation. Applicants should be a rising sophomore status or greater.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to starting the internship
