Your New Role
CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) is responsible for the business operations of CNN's properties outside of the United States. All commercial activities for brands such as CNN International, CNN Arabic, CNN Style and CNN Business are aligned within the division. This encompasses the advertising sales, sponsorship partnerships, commercial content development, content sales, brand licensing, distribution and out-of-home operations, business development and marketing for the world's leading international news provider.
The Social Audience Insights Analyst is a new role within the team that will be dedicated to using social audience intelligence platforms to understand what matters to audiences, how brands are perceived online and identify where the strategic content opportunities exist. This position will sit at the intersection of audience insights and sales client strategy to elevate our strategic audience intelligence on pitches. This requires:
• Understanding how social and behavioural insights are evolving and how to mine these datasets for actionable insights for brands
• Quantifying the CNN effect online investigating and measuring how CNN fuels the conversation
• Delivering strategic insights and thought leadership analysis for brands and clients to inform our partnership and content strategy
This position will work closely with our Audience Insights team and sales to develop the strategic insights and evolve our business and audience intelligence. The role requires the candidate to have a strong grasp of audience data analysis, as well as going beyond the numbers and providing the ''Why''. This role is equal balance of data management, analysis and report writing responsibilities.
This is a fixed term contract for a period of 18 months.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Creating high quality, accurate and reliable reports and dashboards to answer key business challenges from sales working closely with the Audience Insights leads
• Developing a strong foundational knowledge of the social audience tools and data sources available
• Conducting desk research to better understand the topic, client or industry
• Building the Boolean operators and logic to run searches and cleaning datasets by removing irrelevant data for insight analysis
• Identifying and flagging potential issues and bugs with the Audience Insights leads ensuring issues with data are spotted and resolved in timely manner
• Exploring and precisely analysing the data to surface and test insight hypothesis
• Presenting the findings in client facing reports
Skills
and Qualifications • Proven experience with social listening platforms like Sharablee, Brandwatch, Pulsar
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention for detail to identify issues and suggest suitable solutions
• Full knowledge of Boolean operators and logic
• Advanced level of experience with Excel formulas and functions and PowerPoint charting and deck writing
• Harness a querying instinct to question why findings are as they are – pushing beyond reporting metric shifts and hunting for the story and the why
• Excellent communication skills, able to articulate and present complex concepts and narratives in a clear and concise manner to a wide variety of audiences.
• Understand the ad-tech and data-tech landscape to connect audience insights to audience targeting to audience validation
• Have a passion about the field and industry you work in: digital and social. Beyond work projects, you are thinking & reading about how media and culture is changing and evolving
