Senior Producer - CNN Video Programming
Job Summary:
The Senior Producer will lead video programming strategy on CNN’s core platforms, including Desktop, Mobile Web, Apps, and social platforms like YouTube and TikTok. This role requires managing team members, collaborating with video leadership, and using data insights to inform programming tactics that drive video growth. The Senior Producer will also be involved in long-term video growth strategies and cross-functional relationships.
Your Role Accountabilities:
• Lead daily programming shifts, collaborate with global programming teams, and guide junior team members.
• Program content for both core platforms and social media accounts, using real-time data to optimize performance.
• Manage direct reports, providing coaching and career development.
• Collaborate with video leadership to develop long-term video growth strategies.
• Independently pitch, develop, and execute programming tactics and ideas.
• Share programming insights with key stakeholders and communicate network and video programming priorities.
• Lead conversations that foster innovation and team growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Four-year college degree required (Journalism preferred).
• 7+ years of experience producing/writing/editing in a major news market.
• 1-2 years of experience managing others.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing systems.
• Strong data analysis skills to inform editorial decisions.
• Excellent communication, news judgment, and headline-writing skills.
• Ability to lead during breaking news situations and make independent editorial decisions.
• Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced news environment.
• Must be available to work in a 24/7 news environment with shifts at any time of day or night.
Compensation:
• Salary range: $82,768.00 - $153,712.00 per year.
