We are seeking a Senior Director of Audience Insights & Strategy, to oversee a team of editors thinking about how we evolve and sharpen our digital product and center our audience in our journalism. This leader will play a pivotal role in advancing our audience-first approach by turning data into actionable insights, developing audience-engagement and growth frameworks, and shaping editorial and content strategies. This team will work in deep partnerships with CNN's data team and ensuring that audience knowledge flows into every part of the business- from newsroom decisions to long-term product and platform strategies.
This is a leadership role for a strategic thinker and operational doer who thrives at the intersection of audience-centered editorial judgment, data fluency, and cross-functional
collaboration.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Strategic Insight & Framework Development
• Lead the development and operationalization of audience engagement frameworks in collaboration with CNN's Data, Analytics, Research, and Testing team
• Create scalable models to identify and act on user needs, habits, and opportunities across platforms.
• Ensure frameworks are embedded across editorial workflows and aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs).
Editorial & Content Strategy Partnership
• Serve as a core partner to editorial leaders, supporting the development and execution of habit-forming, audience-centric content strategies.
• Collaborate with analytics partners to translate audience data into meaningful insights that inform commissioning, planning, and packaging of content.
• Contribute to the evolution of editorial planning by incorporating long-term audience behavior trends and cross-platform dynamics.
Insight Activation & Decision Support
• Guide the design and requirements for reporting, dashboards, and toolkits that democratize insights across the organization.
• Enable real-time decision-making by synthesizing data into clear, actionable guidance for editorial and content leadership.
• Partner with other audience development editors, newsroom, product, and platform teams to align daily publishing efforts with long-term strategic goals.
Team Leadership & Organizational Impact
• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of audience strategy editors, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring audience thinking is a foundational element of every project.
• Champion a modern audience mindset through onboarding, training, and cross-team engagement.
Your Qualifications & Experiences...
• 7+ years of experience in digital media, audience development, content strategy, or data insights roles.
• Proven success working within complex editorial or media organizations to embed audience insights into decision-making.
• Strong experience partnering with Data Science, Analytics, and Product teams to co-create tools and frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment.
• Fluency in analytics platforms (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Chartbeat, Parse.ly, Looker, GA), and a foundational understanding of SQL and business intelligence tools.
• Editorial sensibility and strategic perspective with the ability to balance brand mission and audience behavior.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with a track record of influencing executive decision-making with insights.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $166,603.00 - $309,405.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
