CNN seeks a talented Production Assistant - Contributor/Analyst Team to join the Recruiting & Talent Development team in Washington, DC or New York, NY!
Your Role Accountabilities…
Scout and source a variety of talent for potential roles at CNN including on-air, off-air and possible contributor voice additions. Pitch news talent, research, vet and evaluate subject matter experts. Meet with potential contributors and evaluate their expertise – including recommendations for possible next recruiting steps. Serve as CNN point-of-contact for key contributors – managing live hits, partnering with show bookers to coordinate interviews, and working directly with contributors to prep them with editorial and logistics information. Offer feedback on contributor hits. Help produce special coverage and breaking news involving contributors, including on weekends. Help manage talent and drive their editorial contributions during special coverage and breaking news across all platforms. Keep contributor and talent materials up-to-date. Track contributor usage on daily shows, breaking news and special coverage. Cut and distribute clips of certain contributor hits. Book catering needs, travel logistics, and serve as contributor guest greeter during special coverage. Coordinate contributor logistics including booking travel, studio requests, hair/makeup needs and arrival times. Compile off-air interview requests for approval from senior management. Organize special coverage contributor budgets and manage contributors' technical needs. Work as liaison for CNN contributors and CNN staff. Demonstrate professionalism, urgency, and attention in interactions with contributors. Show discretion when it comes to contributor agreements and roster. Oversee the Director's schedule of contributor meetings and feedback calendar. Keep organizational charts for show staffs, contributors' contacts and locations up-to-date
Qualifications and Experience…
• Candidate must have 1+ years of editorial/news experience
• Research skills, especially the ability to find and vet potential talent, are essential to this position
• Ability to anticipate team needs, react to breaking news and have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must be able to multi-task, execute quickly, and have strong editorial judgment
• A knowledge of current events and politics, key players and global affairs are a must
• Must be willing to travel for special events
• Must be able to interact with high-level talent
