Are you a storyteller? Do you want to be integral in delivering news as it happens to a global audience? If so, then this is your job. The Producer II is a part of our frontline in domestic newsgathering constantly dispatched to field assignments. We break news, tell stories and find stories in a fast-paced environment.
Your Role Accountabilities…
The Producer II, is responsible for generating, pitching and executing creative, enterprise reporting and story ideas, particularly character driven stories for television and digital. The Producer II will hit the road often at a moment's notice and must be ready to collaborate with editors, photojournalists, bookers, show producers and writers.
S/he identifies and develops stories, offers input into interview subjects and conducts pre-interviews that provide depth, insight and balance, conducts research and identifies, acquires and organizes distinctive archival footage and existing CNN material to help craft story lines, write scripts, field produce and/or remotely supervise field production.
The Producer II supervises the edit process, obtains necessary legal clearance, and vets their individual projects. The Producer II must be capable of highly produced live segments.
Qualifications and Experience…
• At least 5 years hands on producing on a network level or major market experience.
• A proven storyteller with excellent writing skills, someone with a record of identifying and producing character driven, textured pieces with correspondents and anchors.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully complete compelling pieces in the experiential form of reporting, which is actively taking the viewer through a story from a firsthand perspective.
• Extensive all platform journalism background, able to produce distinct material for CNN television networks as well as writing news and feature submissions for CNN.com.
• Must possess great research and digging skills, investigative producing background a bonus.
• Proven and experienced photographer on multiple camera formats. Working knowledge of editing desired.
• Demonstrated experience directing and managing crews in the field is desired.
• Extensive knowledge of satellite trucks, broadband transmission platforms, ability to site supervise in breaking news and event/show coverage for multiple CNN networks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment that is 24 hours/ 365 days a year, including extensive last minute and weekend travel.
• Fluency in Spanish a plus

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $84,000.00 - $156,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
