Your New Role...
CNN is looking for a Producer I for CNN This Morning. The Producer I will exclusively produce one of CNN's morning show anchors. This includes all editorial components of the program and field production for breaking news and special events. The Producer and Anchor will work collaboratively on content and direction of the newscast and its segments. This role is responsible for producing and executing live segments on an overnight shift for CNN's morning show. Segments include newsmaker interviews, panel discussions and at times producing reporter hits under tight deadlines. This producer also needs be able to juggle covering breaking news in a calm and responsible way.
The producer must possess strong editorial judgment with the ability to craft hard-hitting questions and research pushback for news interviews. The producer must select key elements including, but not limited to, sound bites, and producing graphics and video that gets at the heart of a story. Strong writing skills are required and a deep knowledge of politics are a must.
This producer will backup the show's Anchor Producers as needed. The ideal candidate must work well with talent, anticipate their needs and communicate clearly with the control room. This producer is expected to pitch compelling and creative segment ideas on a regular basis.
• 5+ years producing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Field production experience and control room experience are necessary.
• Requires a creative thinker with the ability to find new and entertaining ways to present information, new angles to approach stories, and the organization skills to bring it all together.
• Outstanding news judgment, critical and strategic thinking, and an ability to be persistent yet diplomatic are critical for the position.
• Must be able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.

The Legal Bits…
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $85,540.00 - $158,860.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
