Your New Role…
This editor is an excellent communicator who is comfortable handling breaking news and thrives on finding opportunities to better serve and grow our digital audience. The PM editor will keep us competitive on breaking news in key evening hours as well as ensure we are set up for the following day, and will handle major stories that develop from Washington, on the 2024 campaign trail or anywhere in the world in close collaboration with our newsgathering and digital programming partners.

All CNN news editors are dedicated to making sure our stories are accurate and fair so that we continue to grow the trust between CNN and our audiences. Some days may be dominated by a single, fast-moving story. Others will include handling a wide range of pieces in different forms and formats – news features, newsletters, and visual interactives.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Experience editing fast-moving breaking news
• A clear understanding of style and grammar
• Interest in politics and policy stories
• Experience helping writers frame stories for a national audience
• At least 4 years of editorial experience
• College degree or equivalent preferred
How We Get Things Done…
