CNN is looking for a Director of Product Design for New Businesses. The New Businesses team will be leading the creation of new, standalone products at CNN, and focused on the creation of separate, nonnews experiences that can help enrich our users' lives and drive the subscription business. The ideal candidate is an experienced design leader, who effortlessly collaborates with product, engineering, research, editorial and analytics, while driving the overall UX vision for our new products.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• You will be an integral part of CNN's New Businesses team, steering and communicating the vision for CNN's non-news and standalone products that will drive CNN's subscription business.
• You will foster a deep collaborative culture and promote partnership with cross-functional leads and senior leadership to synthesize and translate strategic initiatives into best-in-class product experiences.
• You will manage a team of product designers to identify user needs, produce cutting-edge user experiences, conduct rapid prototyping to iteratively test and validate product features and proof of concepts. If you are successful, your team will grow rapidly.
• You will guide the overall design vision, with user research and analytics data, to develop a deep understanding of how users engage, what matters to them and identify pain points.
• You understand the media landscape, and you are innovative, and committed to pushing the boundaries of CNN.
• You will empower and mentor your design team; foster a cohesive, committed, passionate, productive, and positive environment; champion new ideas, and work towards the highest caliber of craft and a best-in-class experiences within a growing team.
Qualifications & Experience…
• 10+ years' related work experience leading design in Digital Media/Technology companies, with 5+ years managing and building teams of designers and managing teams of agency designers.
• Deep understanding of both mobile and web technologies. Experience in media companies is a plus.
• Expertise in Figma, prototyping and a deep knowledge of utilizing design systems; extensive experience in program management tools such as Confluence and Jira.
• Impeccable written and verbal communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of executing on a design vision and influence cross-functionally.
• Data-driven, with extensive experience testing and refining to continually improve upon metrics.
• Mastery of best UX design practices, including usability principles, user research methodologies and testing techniques.
• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $189,700.00 - $352,300.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
