CNN is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Brand and Content Marketing to join our Brand Marketing team in New York City. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy for CNN Brand Marketing, this pivotal role will be responsible for crafting and executing innovative marketing campaigns that elevate our brand and content offerings, including the CNN brand at large, individual shows and series, and CNN's world class journalists. The Director will lead a small team and focus on upper funnel campaigns, collaborating closely with our growth marketing teams to develop comprehensive full funnel strategies. The Director will lead a small team and focus on upper funnel campaigns, collaborating closely with our growth marketing team to build strategies that drive toward shared primary KPIs, including subscriber acquisition and on-platform engagement for the CNN subscription product, starting with support for the launch and continued adoption of the new streaming service.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Strategic Campaign Development: Develop and implement strategic marketing campaigns to promote CNN's brand and content, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and brand fundamentals. You will be responsible for positioning the CNN brand in overarching brand campaigns, as well as individual shows and journalists within specific campaigns, and will lead from campaign briefing to final execution.
• Demand Creation: Drive demand for CNN's content and brand at large, adapting to the changing media landscape with a spirit of innovation and a willingness to test and learn as the product evolves.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture that encourages innovation and creativity.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Growth Marketing teams and other cross-functional teams, including Creative, Editorial, Research and Ad Sales to create integrated full funnel campaigns, with a particular focus on upper funnel strategies.
• Creative Development: Work closely with creative teams to develop world-class campaigns that represent CNN and its leading journalists, ensuring brand consistency and excellence in execution.
• Campaign Optimization: Analyze campaign performance and KPIs, including subscriber starts, first views on platform, incremental minutes spent, brand affinity etc, to optimize marketing efforts and maximize return on investment.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data-driven decision-making to refine strategies, leveraging A/B testing, segmentation, and attribution models to improve campaign outcomes.
• Strategic Planning and Forecasting: Establish KPIs, set strategic goals, and forecast on and off-channel inventory and paid media dollars in collaboration with Growth Marketing counterparts to drive successful outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience…
• 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, brand marketing, or content marketing, preferably in a D2C subscription-based business.
• Proven experience leading successful direct-to-consumer and content marketing campaigns.
• Extensive knowledge of the entertainment, media, streaming or Direct-to-Consumer space
• Experience and passion for building innovative 360-marketing strategies and campaigns.
• Track record of managing a team and motivating innovation/creativity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with marketing tools and platforms.
• Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work across the full marketing funnel.
• Familiarity with working with creative teams to develop world-class campaigns.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with experience reporting to leadership on results and initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $137,900.00 - $256,100.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
