The Digital Publicist will work within CNN Worldwide’s communications team to support strategic publicity efforts around CNN’s digital products and innovations. This role requires strategic thinking, high organizational skills, and strong public relations experience. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with top journalists and play a key role in CNN’s future.
Your Role Accountabilities:
• Support strategic publicity efforts for CNN’s digital products, including drafting and distributing pitches for product launches and innovations.
• Research and pitch creative placements, interviews, stories, and speaking opportunities for CNN product managers and leaders.
• Coordinate and strategize with teams across CNN and the wider communications team.
• Maintain accurate bios, headshots, and fact sheets for journalists, editors, and executives.
• Maintain and create targeted press lists for bookings and news events.
• Support internal and external event planning and execution.
• Manage PR campaigns for assigned projects, including CNN linear and digital initiatives.
• Track media coverage and compile media recap reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 3-4 years of experience, preferably in media, news, or public relations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and excellent attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with talent and executives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interest in news and politics, with excellent judgment.
• Existing relationships with press covering media, news, or politics preferred.
• Public relations agency experience preferred.
• Prior administrative experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary/Benefits
$64,400.00 - 119,600.00 per year
