Associate Producer for Amanpour & The Amanpour Hour

The Associate Producer on Amanpour will assist in all video production aspects of Amanpour and The Amanpour Hour and oversee the edit and delivery of our program every evening to our WNET partners. It is a crucial role, as the Associate Producer not only coordinates and supervises edits of pre-taped interviews and assists with elements but also is responsible for implementing any necessary changes to the program, after its broadcast on CNN International and prior to its delivery to WNET. There will also be opportunities for the successful candidate to expand upon their skill set, with writing and segment production opportunities, in addition to overall contributions to the editorial direction of the show. This is a London-based role, 12pm – 8pm, with those hours shifting slightly later on occasions when the WNET delivery may require more substantial edits.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• The Associate Producer will assist the team in locating video and pictures, including archives, and oversee edits of this material, and add to the rundown with necessary fonts.
• The Associate Producer will also be the primary producer across the edits of most pre-taped interviews, working in close coordination with the team of dedicated Amanpour editors.
• They will also be the primary point of contact between these editors and the show's senior producers and executive editor, flagging any issues and helping coordinate assignments.
• Delivery of the Amanpour show to WNET after it has aired on CNN International is a crucial element of the job, perhaps the most important – the Associate Producer will work with an editor to enact any necessary edits or changes to the show that has aired on CNN International, and then oversee its delivery to WNET, for its US broadcast on PBS that evening.
• The Associate Producer will also assist in production elements and show construction of our weekend program, The Amanpour Hour, which is filmed on Thursdays and constructed and delivered on Fridays.

Qualifications & Experience…
• Exceptional interest in international news and current affairs.
• A close eye for detail, catching small errors and glitches to ensure the highest possible quality product reaches air.
• An enthusiasm for producing edited interviews and material to the highest possible quality.
• A good ability to multitask and coordinate multiple edits.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
• Proficiency in iNews and other broadcast software would be particularly advantageous.
• Writing experience would be desirable.
• Additional languages would be advantageous.
• An interest in social media and how best to position Amanpour's content for a digital-first strategy would be a plus.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
